Our Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLA) courses at A1 and A2 levels are designed for beginners and elementary learners who want to communicate confidently in everyday situations.
A1 – Beginner
At A1 level, learners develop basic communication skills in Portuguese. By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand and use simple everyday expressions
- Introduce themselves and others
- Ask and answer basic questions about personal details (name, nationality, profession, family, daily routines)
- Interact in simple conversations when the other person speaks slowly and clearly
This level focuses on pronunciation, essential vocabulary, basic grammar structures, and practical communication from the very first lessons.
A2 – Elementary
At A2 level, learners expand their language skills to communicate more independently. By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand frequently used expressions related to everyday topics (shopping, work, leisure, travel)
- Communicate in routine situations requiring simple exchanges of information
- Describe personal experiences, plans, opinions, and preferences in simple terms
- Improve accuracy in grammar and fluency in spoken and written Portuguese
