Our Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLA) courses at B1 and B2 levels are designed for learners who already have a solid foundation in Portuguese and wish to develop greater fluency, accuracy, and confidence in real-life communication.
B1 – Intermediate Level
At the B1 level, students strengthen their ability to communicate in everyday and professional contexts. The course focuses on expanding vocabulary, improving grammatical control, and developing the four core skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Learners will be able to:
- Understand the main points of clear spoken and written Portuguese on familiar topics
- Participate in conversations about daily life, work, and travel
- Write simple, coherent texts such as emails, short reports, and personal messages
- Express opinions, experiences, and plans with increasing confidence
B2 – Upper-Intermediate Level
The B2 level aims to refine language use and promote more spontaneous, nuanced communication. Students engage with more complex texts and discussions, focusing on precision, fluency, and cultural awareness.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand extended spoken and written texts, including abstract and technical topics
- Interact fluently and naturally with native speakers
- Produce clear, detailed written texts such as essays, articles, and professional documents
- Argue a point of view, justify opinions, and adapt language to different contexts
